Powell River Fire Rescue is a composite career, paid-on-call department with two Chief Officers, one Coordinator/Public Educator, fourteen Suppression Firefighters, and approximately thirty paid-on-call Auxiliary Firefighters.
The #1 Fire Hall is manned 24/7 for Emergency Response.
Office Hours are
Monday – Friday 8 am to 5 pm

  • Assessing and limiting exposure to hazardous material leaks and spills
Powell River Fire Rescue's primary response area is within the municipal boundaries of the City of Powell River - MAP
In addition to this area we provide assistance for fire or medical first responders within the Regional District on Nootka Street, Myrtle Avenue, Claridge Road, including Paradise Valley Mobile Home Park, Tanner Avenue and Covey Street.
The department also provides support for our regional neighbours as per the Powell River Regional Emergency Services Agreement
The #1 Fire Hall on Courtenay Street is the only hall that is manned 24/7. The #2 Hall on Sutherland Avenue provides supplemental coverage for the Wildwoood area with paid-on-call fire fighters responding from Wildwood and career members responding from the #1 Fire Hall. The Cranberry Training Centre is not an active fire hall. It houses one fire engine and stores various equipment. The Centre is used for training events when required.
