The Number One Fire Hall Auxiliary Firefighters are an amalgamation of three separate fire departments Cranberry, Townsite and Westview. These former district fire departments make up the present body of Auxiliary Firefighters in Powell River. As auxiliary members of Powell River Fire Rescue we are dedicated to providing a beneficial service to the community of Powell River. This is achieved through regularly scheduled training nights and specialized training activities provided by the Chief Training Officer and Duty Captains.

In Recent years, the Number One Hall Auxiliaries have taken an active role in training through its participation in courses provided by the Justice Institute of British Columbia’s Fire Academy. The auxiliary members of Powell River Fire Rescue are currently working towards both their British Columbia Firefighter Level One and Two Certification. Participation in these types of training programs allows the department to provide the community with trained auxiliary fire personnel.

The auxiliary members of Powell River Fire Rescue, if they choose, have the opportunity to become members of the Cranberry Lake Firemen’s Club a fraternal organization which provides both present day and honourary club members the opportunity to interact with each other through a common bond. The club hosts many social activities throughout the year which promotes an atmosphere of camaraderie for its membership. In addition, the Powell River Fire Rescue Number One Hall Auxiliaries sponsor a local minor league baseball team.
